The time is near for the third annual Quiet Sports Expo. The show is part of the 58th Annual Boat Sport and Travel Show.  The 3rd most attended event in Indianapolis.  The Quiet Sports Expo is dedicated to human powered event.  The Central Indiana Bicycling Association will play an active role in the event and hope that many of you will be a volunteer.

This is an opportunity to reach out to the public will provide them with info on the club and our mission statement. By volunteering for 2-3 hour sessions, you will have a chance to interact with the public and share your love for cycling. As a volunteer, you will receive a daily pass to the QSE event and free parking.  You will also receive a cool CIBA tee shirt to wear at the event and keep for future volunteer opportunities.

To volunteer please contact Joe Hettle at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The ride and swap meet will be from the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2003 Pleasant Street, Noblesville on Sunday, 2/12.  The ride start is at noon and the swap meet will be from 1PM to 4PM. By Joe Hettle:

There seems to be a lot of talk and controversy about the increase in bike lanes in the city.  Bicyclists either love them or hate them.  Motorists seem to pretty much hate them.  The one thing for sure is there is confusion over how to use the lanes.  Oh and by the way “what the heck” do all of the lines, dashes and colors mean?  And I agree.

With this in mind I have gone to Jamison Hutchins from the City of Indianapolis,  Planner / Office of Sustainability and ask for some guidelines.  Here are his comments:
